Progression Tracker

Identify common chord progressions in real time

A chord progression plays (4-8 chords). You identify each chord by its roman numeral function. Start with I-IV-V-I, I-V-vi-IV, ii-V-I. Graduate to more complex jazz and chromatic progressions.

How it works

  1. 1.
    Hear the key
    Key established with tonic chord.
  2. 2.
    Listen to the progression
4-8 chords play at moderate tempo. First pass: just listen.
  3. 3.
    Identify on second play
Progression replays. Tap the roman numeral for each chord as it sounds.
  4. 4.
    Sing the bass line
After identifying, sing the root of each chord through the progression. App verifies.
