Pitch Mirror

Hear a note, sing it back — the foundation of all ear training

A single note is played. You sing it back. The app measures your pitch accuracy in cents. This is the most fundamental ear training exercise — if you can match pitch, everything else follows. Start in your comfortable vocal range and expand.

How it works

  1. 1.
    Listen to the played note
App plays a single sustained tone (piano timbre initially) for 2 seconds in the user's comfortable vocal range.
  2. 2.
    Sing the note back
User sings or hums the note. App uses pitch detection to measure accuracy in cents deviation. Green = within 15 cents, yellow = 15-30 cents, red = >30 cents.
  3. 3.
    Hold the note
Sustain for 3 seconds while app shows real-time pitch tracking. Learn to stabilize, not just hit the note.
  4. 4.
    Hear correction
If off by >15 cents, app plays the target note again simultaneously with your recorded attempt so you hear the difference.
