Identify the bass note in chord progressions — the foundation of harmonic hearing

A chord progression plays with full instrumentation. Your job: sing or identify the bass note of each chord. This is the single fastest path to harmonic awareness — the bass tells you where you are in the harmony.

How it works

  1. 1.
    Hear the key
    Brief tonal context.
  2. 2.
    Listen to the progression
    4-8 chords play with piano or band arrangement.
  3. 3.
    Sing the bass line
    On replay, sing the lowest note of each chord as it changes. App tracks pitch.
  4. 4.
    Identify bass scale degrees
    After singing, identify each bass note by scale degree (1, 4, 5, etc.).
