Rising Intervals

Identify ascending melodic intervals within a tonal context

A key is established with a short cadence, then two ascending notes play. You identify the interval. Always in tonal context — never isolated. Start with P4, P5, P8, then add M3, m3, M2, m2, then tritone and 6ths/7ths.

How it works

  1. 1.
    Hear the key
App plays I-IV-V-I cadence to establish tonal center.
  2. 2.
    Hear two ascending notes
Two notes play melodically (ascending). Both are diatonic to the established key.
  3. 3.
    Identify the interval
Select from available interval buttons. At foundation level: P1, m2, M2, m3, M3, P4, P5. Additional intervals unlock with tier progression.
  4. 4.
    Sing the interval
After identifying, sing both notes. App verifies pitch accuracy. This step is mandatory — identification alone is insufficient.
