Falling Intervals

Identify descending melodic intervals — harder than ascending for most ears

Same as Rising Intervals but descending. Research shows descending intervals are consistently harder to identify — the brain processes them differently. Training both directions is essential for real musical hearing.

How it works

  1. 1.
    Hear the key
    I-IV-V-I cadence establishes tonal center.
  2. 2.
    Hear two descending notes
    Two notes play melodically (descending).
  3. 3.
    Identify the interval
Select the interval. Same progressive unlocking as ascending.
  4. 4.
    Sing the interval descending
Sing both notes in the descending direction. App verifies.
