Pitch Hold

Retain a pitch in memory over increasing time delays

Hear a note, wait through a silence (or distractor sounds), then sing it back or identify it. Builds the tonal memory that underlies audiation — the ability to hold music internally.

How it works

  1. 1.
    Listen to target note
App plays a single note for 2 seconds.
  2. 2.
    Hold it internally during delay
Silence for 5 seconds (progressing to 10, 15, 30 seconds). At advanced levels, distractor tones play during the delay.
  3. 3.
    Sing it back
After the delay, sing the original note. App measures pitch accuracy.
  4. 4.
    Verify
App replays original note so you hear the comparison.
